Valentine's Day Favorite DIYs

Can you believe it is February already?! I am super excited because not only is it the month of our baby boy's first birthday but also my hubby's and I wedding anniversary.  And of course, we can't forget about Valentine's Day!

My husband and I are not big into going all out for Valentine's Day.  We typically enjoy staying in at home and cooking dinner together while sipping some wine and enjoying each others company.  With a baby in the mix now, it is getting a little harder to have "us" time. So this year, I thought it would be fun to shake things up a little bit and do Valentine's Day up, but from the comfort of our own home after baby boy has gone to bed.

So I have rounded up some of my favorite DIY ideas for this Valentine's Day that should be pretty easy to do ahead and enjoy with that special someone.

I have never been big on decorating for Valentine's Day. But since starting this blog I thought I would give it a shot this year.  I knew that I wanted to keep the decor fairly simple and nothing really over the top.  So when I saw this DIY from Debbie-debbiedoos.com I knew it was something that I wanted to try out.  How cute are these?! They are super simple to make and you don't really need a whole lot if you already have a picture frame and some card stock or even wrapping paper around.  I have a HUGE bag of buttons that I keep when buying clothes and they include that extra one button. This is the perfect craft to put those to good use since I never remember that I have them when I need them for my clothes!

My husband absolutely loves popcorn, he could eat it all day everyday if I would let him.  So when I saw this recipe for Valentine's Day popcorn, I knew that I have to make it for our at home Valentine's Day celebration.  And as a lover of chocolate, when I saw that it had white chocolate as an ingredient, I was hooked!  This recipe comes from Gimmesomeoven.com and it looks absolutely beautiful and delish! I just know my hubby is really going to love this one. Make sure you check out that link because there is also another Valentine's Day popcorn recipe that looks just as amazing as this one!

Another way to decorate your home easily for Valentine's Day is with flowers! I absolutely love this idea from Evolutionofstyleblog.com!  It is so pretty and super clever to put a smaller vase inside a larger one so that way you don't have to fill the entire vase with candy.  Although the tulips look amazing, you could do this with any kind of flowers and it would still look beautiful. Make sure you check out the site for step by step instructions and other ideas to use as a filler.  I cannot wait to give this one a try!

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am a huge fan of decorating with printables.  It is such a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to decorate your home. Kristi from Ishouldbemoppingthefloor.com provides 8 printables like this one for $5! You can't beat that price! Make sure you check out the link to see these and many more printables available on her site.  How awesome is that?! I simply go around my house and replace a picture in existing frame with one of these and it instantly added a little Valentine Day decor to our home.  Easy and beautiful!

This next DIY is from Sandandsisal.com and it is so cool! I love using corks to decorate and already have a huge vase filled with corks that I have been collecting for years and years. I have been trying to think of ways to use them since the vase is getting pretty full by now.  This is the perfect DIY to put my collection to good use! It looks like it is fairly simple and all you need is paper, a glue gun, and corks.  Make sure you check out the site for full instructions and more cork DIY projects for the home!  And make sure to follow me on social media so you can see how I incorporate this and the above DIYs into my home decor.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and it helps put you in the Valentine Day spirit! For someone who doesn't typically decorate for this holiday I am pretty pumped to start my DIY decor!
