You Pinned It, Now DIY It!

DIY

If you guys have been following me for a while, you know that I am a huge fan of Pinterest.  I can spend hours upon hours just browsing home decor and DIY's.  I have especially been doing a lot more browsing recently now that I have caught the spring bug!  I am super excited to decorate our home with fun colors and bring in some new decor pieces.  Move on winter!

In my search for spring inspiration, I have come across a few DIY's that I just had to try and I thought it would be fun to share with you!

Tulip Wreath DIY

As soon as I saw this post on the On Sutton Place blog I knew that I wanted to give this a try. So much so that I wrote about it on my "Top Five Spring DIYs" post.  Check it out here if you missed it!

So just like blogger Ann explains on her post, this DIY is surprisingly supper simple and so much fun to do.  I spent a little under $30 at Hobby Lobby getting all my materials because the flowers were 50% off and I had a 40% off coupon. Score!

Adding the garland...

Half way there!

I was so super excited to give this a go that as soon as I got home from the store I made the hubby watch our baby boy so I could get to crafting. It took me a little under an hour.  Make sure you check out the post on Ann's blog here to get the full list of materials and instructions. I followed her steps and the wreath turned out beautiful if I do say so myself!

What I really like about this DIY is that I can reuse everything.  I didn't have to glue or tie anything down, all of the flowers and greenery is threaded through the grapevine wreath. So I can keep swapping flowers as the seasons change!

Done!

Dollar Store Candle Holder DIY

This next DIY is so simple yet so versatile that as soon as I saw on the Salt and Pepper Moms blog I knew that I would be giving this one a try.  And who can beat that price tag?! This DIY cost me a whopping $4 total! Amazing!

Dollar Tree candle stinks and vases.

Gorilla Glue works wonderfully!

Place something heavy on top and let sit for about 15 minutes while glue dries.

So I headed to my local Dollar Tree and picked up two candle holders and two small vases. These two items are pretty by themselves, but look how cool they look together?! Simply glue them with gorilla glue and place a heavy object on top for a few minutes while the glue dries.

I love how these two turned out!

Moss Covered Canvas DIY

I spotted this moss covered canvas DIY on The Kolb Corner blog and I immediately envisioned how I wanted to use it in my home.  I purchase the canvas at Walmart for a couple of bucks and the moss I got from the Dollar Tree and then got to work.

I googled pictures for "bunny shape outline" and searched until I found a bunny silhouette that I was happy with.  I then printed the outline, cut it out, and traced it onto my canvas with a fine point sharpie.  I used elmer's glue and glued the moss onto the canvas in small sections. Now make sure you check out the tutorial on the site because I made mine a little bit differently. And to be honest, I am not sure how I feel about how mine turned out.  I don't know if someone would be able to clearly see the bunny outline.  I tried to make it more noticeable by adding a white cotton ball tail but I am still not convinced.

What do you guys think?!
