A Doorway Makeover: Why You Should Consider a Curtain on Your Front Door

Our entry space often felt a little boring and lacking in style. The more I tried to figure out what I wanted to do, the more indecisive I became. I desperately wanted to incorporate style and color into this room but was focused on removing a front door I despised. I was so focused on believing that the only way to solve our entry problem was to replace the front door that I missed other ways to improve the space. As I researched, I ran into several pictures with curtains on the front door and thought it was an interesting idea.

The more I researched, the more I was convinced that I had to give this look a try. I liked that you could add color and texture with a curtain rather than with wallpaper or paint. I’ve been hesitant to make either of these changes because I didn’t want to make the room feel dark. Using curtains allows me to bring in the color and texture that I desperately wanted while allowing for light control.

After living with it for a couple of weeks, it’s been a wonderful change both functionally and decoratively. I love the extra layer of privacy the curtains provide but what I love most is the amount of texture and color they add. I also like how easy it will be to change the curtains depending on the seasons or mood I’m going after. I can’t wait to play around with it this holiday season!

What do you think? Is this something you would try out in your home?
