New Year, New Goals

Hello there! I hope that your year is off to a great start. For me, it’s looking to be quite a busy year already!

It’s already the middle of the month in January and I’m just now getting to writing this. You see, being a stay at home mom to my two little ones is my first job. It’s a job that I adore and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. But sometimes that job can be quite exhausting! I was able to find my blogging groove when I just had my son but now that there is two little people needing my attention I have found it a little difficult to get some time to create.

My intention with House by the Preserve this year is to create and communicate with you as often as I can. I would love to be able to write at least once a week but that has proven to be a little difficult already so I don’t want to set anything in stone. I just want to share my intentions with you so that you know what to expect of me in the next coming months.

I am hoping that as my little guy starts preschool this year and my baby girl gets older, I will be able to dedicate more time to blogging. I have truly loved every second of creating in this space and it’s not something that I intend to give up. It just may not happen as often as I would like!

I do have some big projects planned for this year and I am hoping that my kids will cooperate in letting me finish them!

2020 Home Goals:

Kitchen - That’s right. I’m finally going to be doing something about our kitchen. I feel that I’ve talked to you guys (or written) about this subject to death! So I am finally going to put my words into action!

Big Boy Room Makeover - a lot of changes have happened in my little guys bedroom since I last showed you and it’s time I give him a room to be proud of again. I want his room to be one of the first that I add molding to so should be an interesting experience since it will be my first time.

Baby Girl Room - You last saw this room as a nursery. Now that my little girl will turn one, I want to give the walls in this space a refresh. The original gray color that I chose is no longer doing it for me so I have been trying to come up with something fun for her space. Stay tuned!

Playroom - The last time I showed you this space was it was the newly turned lanai into a four season room that added 120 square feet to our home. Now I’m ready to really incorporate this room into our home rather than have it look like an addition. So excited to get this one done!

Home Office/Home Bar - We currently don’t have a guest room and we would like to convert the home office to fit a guest space as well. I have a plan and it may involve another closet office! Yay!

If you know me you know that I have tons more projects that I would like to get done. But I am trying to be realistic to life with two little ones so I am keeping it to 5 big projects for the year. That’s not to say I won’t have smaller projects here and there as I am able to fit them in. I plan on starting with the biggest project soon, the kitchen!

The kitchen makeover is seriously five year in the making and I can’t wait to get my hands dirty. I am hoping to share my plans with you soon so stay tuned for a blog post soon. If you want to see more behind the scenes then head on over to my Instagram (@housebythepreserve) where I am always sharing what I’m currently working on and get sneak peaks!

I wanted to thank you, for reading, engaging, commenting, for cheering me on, staying with me even though I haven’t been the best blogger lately. You guys inspire me to keep creating and sharing and I truly appreciate all your support, THANK YOU!

Here is to a great New Year!

Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with interior decorating and using my hands to create beautiful things to incorporate in my space.

I believe that making your house a home shouldn’t be a difficult or expensive but exciting and most of all fun! It isn’t about the size or location of your home but about being able to create a space that is yours to fit your budget without sacrificing style.

Having recently purchased our first home, we’ve been busy creating a space that is ours as we blend my and my husband’s styles together. Explore the site to see what we have accomplished!
