Stylish Rugs for your Living and Dining

This past weekend we participated in our first ever garage sale and I have to tell you that I had so much fun that I may make this a bi-annual thing. We have been trying to work on getting our guest room set up and finished, but with all the new baby things in the house, that room was quickly becoming a storage unit.  We took the opportunity to sell a bunch of stuff that we were no longer using and donated everything else that we were unable to sell.

This not only allowed us to finally clear the guest room so I can get on with decorating it, but it also allowed for me to sell our area rugs in the family and dining room which I had been dying to replace. The old ones were just dated and I wanted something new to fit our current decor. So I made a deal with my husband that we would pull out the rug in the dining room first and if that one sold, we would then pull out the one in the family room.  Well let me tell you, I sold both rugs in a span of 5 minutes! YAY!! So that means new rugs!

As I begin scouring the internet for deals and steals, I thought I would put together a post of some of my favorites that I have found so far.

The colors in this rug are so pretty! I love the mixture of the blues and greens.  This is a nice update to the more traditional rugs but with a little bit of a distressed look.  If you have neutral couch, this rug would look amazing, bringing your eye down to the floor.  Carry the colors in your throw pillows and the space will look stunning!

A less traditional style and more color option is the rug below.  I wouldn't normally have searched for orange in my area rug but as soon as I saw this one, I knew it would be beautiful. I love how the colors are not something I normally gravitate to but they look so cool together! The grey and the blues and orange look amazing together and I love how that dark grey chair just pops against this rug.

If you are looking for something a little bit more modern, but still keeping in that blue tone, this one is for you.  I love the geometric print of this area rug. It would look awesome under a chunky wood dining room table. I have quickly come to the realization that blue is almost like a neutral for me, so I would add pops of bright pink if you are looking to add more color. I can see the wood dining table with a beautiful vase with bright pink tulips on top. Keeping it classic in blue and white would look great as well, making this rug a little more versatile than one would normally think.

I absolutely love this next rug because since it is neutral, the different patterns and texture in it is amazing giving it more interest than just a plane beige rug. If you have darker floors, the light color will just pop and if you have light floors, the texture in the rug would bring in some interest down below.  Pair it with a great colored couch and you will be well on your way to having a great space!

This next rug is my absolute favorite and if my husband would have agreed, I would have already bought one for my living room. The colors in this rug are absolutely amazing! I never thought that I would be so into a pink rug, but I am. It is so different and pretty! I guarantee you that you will not see this rug or similar ones in many homes making it a very unique piece for a unique home! I am still working on the hubby to agree to let me get this one for our living room.  We have a very large beige couch and I think with this rug on the floor, the couch will just pop!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and that it brought you a little inspiration to your day! Leave me a comment below and let me know your favorite things to sell at a garage sale!
