Holly Jolly Great Room Christmas Tour

Are you guys all done with Christmas decorating? I have to admit, that I've been slacking lately. I had a lot of ideas and projects that I wanted to get done, but after battling a long cold that went through everyone in our family I'm just now starting to get my energy back. So today, I finally get to show you what I've done in our great room.

This room is a little hard to style because I have to have enough decor to carry all throughout the kitchen, dining, and family room. And with the challenge that I gave myself earlier this month, where I plan on using all my current Christmas decor but in different ways has made styling all of the spaces in consistent ways a little challenging.

Let's start with the kitchen:

The best way to decorate in our kitchen was by adding touches of red. Since we have very dark cabinets, the red popped against them and look so pretty!

The Family Room:

This year we decided to place the Christmas tree behind the couch so that the tree could be enjoyed from all areas of the great room. That meant that my usual decor in the family room with the Christmas tree as the focal point would not do. Take a look below and see what I came up with!

Let's step into the dining room:

The dining room got a little mini makeover recently when I finally took the plunged and painted my Ikea malm desk a deep navy blue color. Tutorial coming soon, so stay tuned if you ever wondered how to paint laminate Ikea furniture.  Having this table in there allowed me to decorate a little more in this space than previous years.

The Tree and Lanai Area

I wanted to keep the tree simple this year and just use silver and gold ornaments. To change things up a bit, I used an old wood planter and used it as the base. Love how it turned out!

What I love about placing the Christmas tree in this location is that we can also enjoy it while we hang out in the lanai area. I absolutely love sitting out here while the sipping on a cup of hot cocoa, enjoying the cool breeze while gazing at our Christmas tree. Check it out below!

That completes the great room Christmas Tour! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I came up with this year! Can you believe I didn't spend a dime on any new Christmas decor for this area? So happy that I could create a different look from last year using all the same decor pieces. Curious to see how I decorated last year? Check out the below posts:
