Creating a Casual & Festive Thanksgiving Tablescape

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween! Can you guys believe it's November already?! It really feels like this year has flown by,  but I'm so happy that we are one step closer to the holiday season!!

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that I love to sit around the dining table with family and friends and just spend hours, eating and talking while enjoying each other's company. Since we'll be spending a lot of time around the table, I figure, why not make it pretty?!

When planning my tablescapes, I tend to keep the table decorations on the lighter side so that I can use the food as my "accessories." I find that this type of table setting encourages conversation and lets the food be the main source of attraction. This allows for the focus to be on the yummy food, comfy clothes, spending quality time with friends and family and simply enjoying each other's company.

I found a white wood turkey at Home Goods and just love how perfect it looks in the middle of the table. Provides the perfect amount of decor without overwhelming the table. I then used faux fall leaves that I found at the Dollar Tree. A total steal in my opinion as they come in a pack of 50! Perfect addition against the wood grain the dining table.

While making my season run to the Dollar Tree, I ran into these big orange fall leaves that are meant to be used as wall decor. I thought that they would make excellent placemats and I was right! They totally make this table setting!

I added one of my favorite accessories, my owl salt and pepper shakers that I found last year at Target. I absolutely love the little touch of whimsy they bring to the table.
