2020 Nighttime Christmas Home Tour

Christmas time is here!

I'm so ridiculously happy about this time of year because everywhere you look, holiday decorations are going up and filling the air with excitement. After the past year that we've all had, we all could use a little distraction, am I right?!

Today I'd like to share with you our Christmas home tour. I decided to take a very casual approach to decorating this year as we are spending a lot of time at home these days! I didn't buy any new decorations and only used what I already owned, which honestly is my favorite way of decorating because not only does it force you to reuse items in new ways but also allows you to see those items in different ways.

Starting with our front door, I hung my favorite wreath that I DIY'd by spray painting some pine cones silver and copper and hot gluing a pretty ribbon to them. I hung an IKEA garland over the entry mirror and strung lights to make a little move festive. Added some silver reindeer that I also DIY'd a couple of years ago by spray painting them silver and adding bells for their collar.

Down the hall, I added simple touches of Christmas to our newly refinished antique console. Extra ornaments are the perfect little touch to add to vessels you already have laying out.

Down into our kitchen, I simply hung a wreath over the hood and a ceramic Christmas tree that was handed down to me from my parents.

Our family room typically gets the Christmas tree, but this year for some reason it felt cramped in the corner. So I moved it to the corner right off the main bedroom.

On the family room our TV console was transformed to add a Christmas village that my kids are absolutely obsessed with. I can easily find them staring at the details several times a day. This is a new addition for us as all of the houses were handed down to me from my mom.

Living in Florida, we don’t have a fireplace, so this Target stocking holder is the perfect place for us to place our stockings.

Over in the game room/play room, we have another skinny little Christmas tree that is decorated in more traditional colors because that's what my kids wanted! We spend the majority of our time in this space so I wanted to make it feel special without taking a lot room since the toys mostly take over this space.
