5 Simple Tips for Easy Thanksgiving Decorating

With October coming to a close it's time to turn our focus to one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving. I love this time of year not only because it finally starts cooling down in Florida but also because of all of the opportunities to hangout with family and friends. This year I'm excited to be hosting Thanksgiving dinner and as a true home decor blogger, I'm already planning my decor.

Although I love updating my decor as the season's change, I'm not a huge fan of holiday decorating (with the exception of Christmas of course!) But I do try to do a few things throughout our home to welcome our family and friends into our home.

Decorating with a few simple items that help bring in that Thanksgiving feeling of coziness and family gatherings is what I look for in my decor. Here are my 5 simple tips for Thanksgiving decorating:

Work in Cozy Layers

I love adding warm, cozy throws as a way to decorate and bring in some texture to my decor. Either layering a throw over a large, comfy chair or over a bed, it's an easy and affordable way to bring in those fall colors while providing your guests with instant comfort.

Incorporate Fall Scents that Remind you of Thanksgiving

Incorporating scents with a diffuser or candles is a great way to help set the mood and create a cozy atmosphere. But it doesn't just stop there, you can always fill your home with yummy smells by creating a stove top potpourri. I love putting some oranges, cranberries, cloves, cinnamon in a pot with water and letting the steam fill the air.

Invest in Table Linens

A pretty way to dress up a Thanksgiving table is by using table linens. Now these can get expensive depending on the material, so I always limit myself to a set of pretty napkins and/or a runner that can help me decorate the table. A pretty tablescape to set all the delicious food is always a plus in my book!

Add a Pretty Fall Wreath

When I know that I'm going to be expecting guests, I always try to dress up my entryway as a way to welcome our guests into our home. It's a small touch that helps sets the mood for the rest of the evening. One of my favorite ways to add a touch of Thanksgiving to our entryway is by hanging a wreath. There are wreaths of all shapes and sizes and at all price points, pick your favorite that fits your budget and add some color to your front door!

Update your Flowers and Greenery

A simple way to decorate my home is by using flowers and greenery in my decor. This can be as simple as heading outside and finding a tree branch with some leaves and setting it a pretty vase. As much as I love real flowers, I like to use a mixture of real and faux to be a little kinder on my wallet or sometimes a simple walk to our flower beds help me out in a pinch.

You don't need to spend a lot of money to follow the above tips. Whatever reminds you of Thanksgiving, finds ways to incorporate it into your decorations. To help you out, here are some of my favorite finds for this Thanksgiving season and all items are under $50!
