2018 Thanksgiving Table

When decorating for Fall, I typically don’t do too much aside from updating my faux flowers to match the season and maybe updating a throw pillow or two. I also love creating a simple tablescape for the season that I can quickly set up when family and friends are over, like on Thanksgiving. By taking the time to think ahead and getting my plan together, I find that my guests always seem to find the evening more memorable, even if the food is not! LOL.

This year, I wanted to try incorporating one of my old scarves that I’ve recently rediscovered as I’ve been in a de-cluttering frenzy before our baby girls arrives early next year. It’s lovely fall colors immediately made me think it was the perfect addition to my fall table. I played around with the placement and found that due to the scarf’s square shape, laying it diagonal centered on our table was best.

As a center piece, I decided to keep things super simple and added a silver tray that I inherited from my mom and a set of 3 colorful ceramic pumpkins that I purchased last year from Dollar Tree. I love getting decor items like these pumpkins from Dollar Tree because they are so inexpensive that I don’t feel guilty whenever I want to move on from them. For now, I still love these little pumpkins and they add the perfect amount of fall to my table. Surrounded the pumpkins with some faux eucalyptus that I had on hand and this simple centerpiece is complete!

On top of my simple white plates, I set a small hunter green leaf plate that I found at the Target dollar spot this year. They added the perfect amount of color to my otherwise neutral place setting and so cheap too! For another pop of color, I layed a faux fall leaf from a packet that I also got last year at the Dollar Tree. It created another colorful layer and I plan on using them as name tags this year whenever we have people over by simply writing their name on the leaf with a black marker.

To dress up my simple white napkins, I used the ribbon that the Target plates came wrapped in and simply tied a bow in the middle of the napkins. Used some of my faux eucalyptus for an added touch of green and done! Super simple way to dress up a napkin, don’t you think?

For an added touch of Fall, I added my favorite salt and pepper shakers that I purchased from Target a few years ago. These little owls are so cute and make me so happy seeing them displayed on my Thanksgiving table.

I hope this simple tablescape helps inspire to create your own this Fall season!

Happy Decorating!
