A Romantic Valentine's Day Table Setting for Two

With February just around the corner and with our baby girl due in just a week, I've been in planning mode making sure that we have everything we need to make it a fun month. You see, February is a very special month for my husband and I. Not only are our two children born in February, but it's also our wedding anniversary and there's also Valentine's Day! It's not something that we planned, just how things worked out. It makes for a busy month, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

With our baby girl arriving any day now, I wanted to make sure that the hubby and I at least take some time with each other on this special month to celebrate us and our growing family. So for this Valentine's day, I'm setting a romantic table setting that will hopefully give my hubby and I a few minutes to reconnect and spend some time together eating a warm meal.

As usual with my table settings, I like to keep things simple and elegant without going out and buying a lot of decor pieces I won't normally use anywhere else throughout my home.

I started by using a simple white table runner that I purchased last year at the Target Dollar Spot. It's a linen like fabric that starts to remind me of the Spring season to come. I then decided to layer in some gold with chargers from the Dollar Tree. I bought mine several years ago, but they bring them back every Valentine's and Christmas season if you are looking for affordable chargers.

I layered in some white and silver plates to add a little bit of color and elegance with a red napkin in between to bring in some traditional Valentine’s day color to the table. I love how the napkins pop against the white china.

As a center piece, I wanted to keep things simple, as I had already dressed up my console table with some pretty pink flowers that my husband brought home as a surprise the other day and who inspired this whole romantic tablescape for two. I simply made a smaller flower arrangement with the same flowers. I love the mixture of all the different flowers and the colors make it feel like spring is almost here!

Since I only set the table for two, I had space to add a little side tray with some of my favorite clear glass candlesticks from CB2 along with a pretty water bottle. There’s nothing more romantic than a few candles burning with an intimate dinner for two!

And there you have it! A super simple, Valentine’s Day tablescape for two. There’s no need to go out and buy all new things to get festive, all you need is some pretty flowers to dress up your current tableware and you’ll have a pretty table to spend some quality time with your special person.

Happy Decorating!
