All the Paint Colors in Our Home

One of the most asked questions regarding our home is the paint colors. I thought that I would finally make it easy for you guys and put them all in one post!

Paint is my favorite way to update a room. It's inexpensive with BIG impact which makes it one of the most affordable ways to customize your home to your taste and style.

When choosing the paint colors for the different rooms in our home, I definitely put a lot of thought into it. I wanted the rooms in our home to flow nicely together without being boring or so different that it feels like you are in a different house. So whenever I'm thinking about bringing in a new color into our space, I always reference a document I made with a picture of each color in our home. This helps me quickly see if something is way off base or if it pairs nicely with the other colors. It's a quick way to see if I'm on the right track. It also helps a lot whenever I'm out shopping for accessories, I can quickly reference my document to see if the colors pair well together with whatever I'm thinking of buying.

The colors in our home have evolved many times as my style and the function of a room changes with our family, but one color has stayed constant in the majority of the main rooms: "Palais White" by Behr. It’s the perfect, creamy white without being too sterile. I love how it pairs with the floors in our home.

When my little guy asked me to paint his room his favorite color, blue, I said sure! So I landed on this beautiful dark blue called “Starless Night” by Behr that completely transformed his space.

For Olivia’s bedroom, we wanted to do something a little different and only paint the door and trim around the room a beautiful shade of pink - “Stolen Kiss” by Behr. This was the perfect touch to add some color while the room has so much going on with the accent wall paper.

As our home office has evolved into a multi-use room as our family grew, I wanted to paint it a dark moody color but when my husband who quite frequently works from home expressed concern that the room would feel too dark to work in with the room's single window, we compromised on this beautiful light bluish, green called “Stardew” by Sherwin Williams. I loved this color so much that I later used it to transform our kids bathroom vanity and the playroom's media cabinet.

Our family room - my favorite room, has been a room that has gone through sooo many colors but I think I finally found the one that works with this space. It's “Urbane Bronze” by Sherwin William. It goes well with the color of our kitchen cabinets and interior doors which are painted “Shiitake” by Sherwin Williams.

In our bedroom I wanted to go super dark and moody. This room get's a ton of natural light and I wasn't scared to go dark in here. After much research, I landed on “Porpoise” by Sherwin Williams. It pairs nicely with Urbane Bronze which is in the family room right outside our door. Our bedroom always feels cozy and my favorite spot in the house to hang out.

Lastly, and most recently painted is the entryway ceiling. I wanted to add some color to the entryway without making it too dark. I’ve been gravitating towards greens lately and when I saw “Antique Jade” by Benjamin Moore I knew it was the one.
