Entryway Refresh - The Reveal

The entryway is the first impression your family and friends have of your home. As you welcome visitors into your home, the entryway sets the stage for the rest of your home. It’s a pretty important role for a pass through space!

In our home, the entryway has been a spot that I’ve neglected over the past couple of years. As I experimented with the rest of our home in finding our style, I’ve struggled in carrying my design over to this space. Leaving projects unfinished with mismatched furniture - it simply was not working for us and didn’t fit our current style.

I really wanted the entryway of our home to be that mixture of Modern Traditional design style that I love. I wanted to bring in color without making the already dark room darker. So my solution was to paint the ceiling a beautiful shade of green - Antique Jade by Benjamin Moore. Painting the ceiling allowed me to bring in color, while still leaving the room bright, which was important to us. It also let the modern light fixture that we chose from allModern standout against the ceiling with its milk glass shade.

I then added a beautiful area rug that had the same shade of green to the floors. With those two changes, the entryway was coming together beautifully paired with the antique brass and glass half moon table I had scored earlier in the year through Facebook Marketplace.

With the key pieces in place, it was time for my favorite part - accessorizing! As soon as I saw these emerald green tapered candles on the allModern website, I knew I had to have them. Not only do I love the shape, but they also help add height to this side of the entryway to help balance out the mirror and flowers.

I’m currently loving the layered look and brought in several pieces I already owned mixed in with my new pieces from allModern to create a curated spot to welcome my guests in our home.

The weather in Florida this summer has been super rainy, almost everyday! So for added function, I got this modern umbrella stand that I absolutely love. Perfect for this little corner of our entryway and it’s not only functional but beautiful.

As with any of my makeovers lately, I’ve added art that my grandmother painted years ago. I love mixing in her art with more modern pieces that I create to achieve a Modern Traditional design.

This space is truly like night and day. It’s come a long way and I’m super happy with how it turned out. It finally feels like this space belongs with the rest of our home!
