I'm super excited to write this blog post because today marks the first day of the $100 Room Challenge for 2018! If you aren't familiar with the $100 Room Challenge, it's a challenge created by Erin from Lemons, Lavender & Laundry where the goal is to refresh/update a room for $100 or less in one month.

This time around, I've decided to tackle my own work space. Last September during another round of the $100 Room Challenge, I transformed my little one's nursery into a big boy room by using the bed from the guest room. We then decided to turn the guest room into a play room/office so that I could work while my little one plays. The room isn't very large, so I wanted to leave most of the floor space for the play room while I took over the closet.
Here is the current lay out of the closet:
This closet is not huge, but it's not small either (8 feet by 2 feet). I want to make sure that I take full advantage of the space and that builder grade wire shelf is just not cutting it. I also want to make sure I make it pretty, since I'm going to be staring at this wall for a couple of hours a day, might as well, right?! If you've been following me for a while, you know that I'm not scared of using color, so of course I have to incorporate a fun color in this space as well. More to come on that!
Now let's take a look at my plans for the Closet Office:
I want to make sure to add lots of shelving so that I can have a dedicated space for my printer, Cricut, sewing machine and all the accessories that come with these machines. I also want to make sure I have a large work space by running the desk the full span of the wall, the whole 8 feet. This will give me plenty of room for crafting and storing my computer.
So as you can already imagine, most of my budget will go towards the wood. My dad will be helping me with the cuts and with the install which helps the budget a TON because he already has all the necessary tools. (Thank you Dad!) I'll have to get creative as far the decor and make sure to shop my house for pretty accessories.
One accessory that I already have in mind is this removable wall paper that I got at Home Goods early last year for $18! I have been dying to use it somewhere in our home but since I was only able to find one roll, I've been waiting for the right opportunity. Unfortunately, I don't have enough to cover the entire closet, so I will have to be smart with how I use it.
And that's it for now! I have to get busy de-cluttering and finding a home for all the stuff that currently lives in the closet! AHH!
Are you excited to see how it turns out?
