$100 Room Challenge: Laundry Room

It's that time again! It’s another round of the $100 Room Challenge where I work to transform a space in my home for just $100 in 4 weeks! If you are new around here, this amazing challenge that is hosted by Erin from Lemons, Lavender & Laundry. You can read all about the challenge here.

Don't think it's possible to transform a room for $100? Check out some of the past spaces that I've completed in past challenges:

Closet Office - January 2018

This time around, I've decided to tackle our laundry room. It's one of the smallest rooms in our home and a space that we've neglected. We made some improvements to this room when we first moved in, but it hasn't really worked well for us. Since we are expecting a baby girl this February, I figure what better time to spruce up this space than now as I'll be spending a lot more time in here once our baby girl arrives!

Let's take a look at the laundry room in its current state:

Sad, no? Unfortunately, this space has become a little bit of a dumping ground for things that don't have a permanent home. I like having hooks here as this is the room we come in from the garage, so it's easy to hang my purse and diaper bag as I'm ushering my little one inside. But as you can see, I've kinda have let it get out of hand with the bags in here. Instead of putting them away as I no longer use them, I just keep piling more stuff on here. It's finally time I remedy that! As I'm in full nesting mode, I'm taking advantage of this time by decluttering and organizing all our closets, so all this "stuff" that has landed here in the laundry room will finally be relocated.

GOALS FOR THE LAUNDRY ROOM:

  1. Clean and organize cabinets so that I'm able to fit all my laundry care items.
  2. Add cabinet pulls to dress them up.
  3. Update lighting - no more boob light!
  4. Fun wall treatment - can't wait to show you what I have planned!
  5. Decorate - make it pretty and functional!
  6. Paint black door white to help brighten the room.
  7. Add a fun detail to the interior laundry room door.

I'm so excited to begin transforming this space to make it a little bit pretty and a lot more functional! Here are some of the inspiration pictures that I've been drooling over as I researched what I wanted to do with my own space.

By following along this month long transformation, I hope to inspired you to think creatively about your own space in order make your home work for you and your family.
